Apr 12    Grays Harbor Happenings: the Newsreels of C.D. Anderson
Flash back to 1920s Grays Harbor with the screening of an acclaimed documentary chronicling the discovery and restoration of more than a dozen newsreels created by C.D. Anderson. John Larson, director of the Polson Museum and one of those interviewed in the documentary, will introduce the film. A showing of clips of the restored footage will follow. The Friends of the Aberdeen Timberland Library will provide coffee and tea.

The Earthquake, Tsunami and Volcano Program of the Washington State Emergency Management Division and Grays Harbor County Emergency Management will be conducting All Hazard Weather Radio Programs at three locations this month.

All attendees will receive a 30 minute educational class on the hazards specific to Grays Harbor County such as: earthquake, floods, severe weather and tsunami. Following the class, all attendees will receive a FREE All Hazard Weather Radio which will be programmed as a group with Brynne Walker, the facilitator. (Only ONE Weather Radio Per Family) You must be a Grays Harbor Resident to receive the radio. All three events are open to everyone from the county.

On Saturday, April 19th, from 10am to 5pm, the artists of Tokeland, Washington, will open their studios for public tour. Additional invited area artists will be located inside the Shoalwater Bay Tribal Center and the historic Tokeland Hotel. With lunches available along the tour route, you can spend a relaxed day shopping for fine art paintings, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, glass, local author's books, and more. Stay the night and enjoy the beach and the Casino.

On Friday, April 25, 2014, the Ocosta PTO will be hosting a Bingo Night in the Ocosta Elementary Multipurpose Room (aka The Round Building), 2580 S Montesano St, Westport, WA 98595.  Doors open at 5:30pm and play begins at 6:00.
 
The entire community is welcome to attend, and the event is kid & family-friendly.  It costs $3/card or $5/3 cards to play.  There will be 20 games total!
 
Pizza by the slice, popcorn & snacks will also be available for sale during the event.
 
Prizes will include 20 gift baskets with fun themes such as "A day at the beach," "Ice Cream Party," "family camping," "spa day," "movie night," and more!  We thank all the families and local businesses who have contributed to the prize baskets!
 
The Ocosta PTO exists to bring parents & caregivers, teachers, and the community together to provide support to school programs such as field trips, the annual Ocosta Dance Festival, Missoula Children's Theater, Family Fun Night, and teacher appreciate events.  All proceeds generated by this event will benefit Ocosta Schools.

Mylo Redwater Smith comes from the Crow Creek Dakota Tribe and has been performing standup comedy since the age of 19, he does comedy and presentations for youth and adults. "I am 8 years sober and the presentation I talk on is universal it covers many of the topics that affect us around Indian country. Ranging from alcohol, drug abuse, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and Suicide Prevention." A Baked Potato Bar is included - First come First serve. Supplies are limited. Parking instructions available on site. A shuttle will be taking attendees back and forth from the Casino parking area.
