SUMMARY:BUSINESSES WANTING TO PARTICIPATE IN TRICK-OR-TREAT/PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
DESCRIPTION:The Hoquiam Business Association is excited to announce this year's Haunted Hoquiam events.  We hope the events will help drive foot traffic through your doors\, resulting in an increase in sales and enhanced customer relationships.\n\n	Please respond by Friday\, October 7th if you would like to participate in the Trick-or-Treat and/or Pumpkin Decorating Contest.\n\n	Haunted Hoquiam Trick-or-Treat:\n\n	This year the Haunted Hoquiam Trick or Treat will take place Saturday October 29 from 1-3pm.  All Hoquiam businesses are invited to participate.  We have heard feedback from businesses that they have enjoyed as many as 500 children walking through their doors on this day.  In order to participate businesses must hang a Haunted Hoquiam poster with a pumpkin (provided) to indicate you are a participant\, and you must supply your own candy.\n\n	The HBA will create a map showing all business participants.  The maps will be available at Tully's Cafe Downtown\, Casa Mia\, McHugh's Home Furnishings\, and by download online.\n\n	Optional Pumpkin Decorating Contest:\n\n	The HBA is also coordinating a pumpkin decorating contest this year.  Participating businesses are asked to display a real decorated pumpkin (carved\, painted\, bedazzled\, etc.) in their business from Wednesday October 26th-Saturday\, October 29.  After displaying your pumpkin ask your customers to "vote" for your pumpkin by placing any amount of change into the provided canister.  The business that collects the most will win the "People's Choice Award".  Proceeds from the pumpkins will support the HBA so that we can continue to coordinate events such as this to help Hoquiam businesses.\n\n	Throughout the time that your pumpkin is displayed\, "secret judges" will visit your business and judge your pumpkin on categories of:\n\n	*Funniest\n\n	*Scariest\n\n	*Cutest\n\n	*Most Creative\n\n	*Most Artistic\n\n	*Best "Hometown Hoquiam" Theme\n\n	Contest winners will be announced on Halloween.
