As with previous Mystery Getaway events, at the end of the festive evening, one person will be going on a deluxe three-day vacation for two, the destination to be announced that evening. Previous winners have gone to Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, Palm Springs, New Orleans, Chicago and Santa Fe. The trip includes round-trip airfare for two, hotel accommodations for three nights, $500 spending money, and great memories. "Each year, our winners have enjoyed a wonderful getaway," exclaims GHC Foundation Executive Director Jan Jorgenson. "We know the 2017 winner will be very happy with their destination." She expressed appreciation to the Foundation's partner, Jenee Beardon of Journey Travel for her support of the travel arrangements. An annual fund-raiser for the Foundation's World Class Scholars program, tickets for the Mystery Getaway are $50 a person, which includes gourmet hors d'oeuvres, beverages and an opportunity to win the trip. The GHC Foundation Board hopes to round up dollars for the $1 million endowment for the World Class Scholars program. There has been no price increase for the event in 8 years.
