Adult Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact and provides information about local resources. The class is designed for older teens and those who work with teens. This 8-hr course uses a combination of role playing and demonstration on how to offer initial help to a teen in a mental health crisis and where to connect persons to the appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care. Each participant who completes the course is given a manual for future resources and certification as a Mental Health First Aider.
