The 2nd Annual Airport Appreciation Day is happening Saturday, August 25 from 9am to 3pm at the Ocean Shores Airport. Home built antiques and general aircraft will be on display as well as classic cars, street rods and motorcycles. Local chapter 367 of the Experimental Aircraft Association will provide hot dogs, soda and water.
As an aside to this event, airport manager Bill Capron, and David Robbins, manager of the Grey Gull and president of the Hospitality Association of Ocean Shores, are working on producing a display board to be placed at the airport that will show available services for incoming flights. There is not currently anything that provides directions or hotel/restaurant information to pilots and passengers. Also on their agenda is a cooperative shuttle service to get passengers from the airport to the town center.
