Crossing Bridges Award Luncheon
The annual Crossing Bridges Award Luncheon is an exciting opportunity to recognize some of the best people and businesses in Hoquiam. The event features a full lunch and program, including awards in the following categories:
Revitalization Project of the Year:
This award exemplifies an individual, business or group that has made great progress in completing a revitalization project in our community. This can be revitalization to a structure, a neighborhood, a property, etc.
Green Business of the Year:
This award recognizes a business or organization that has made a commitment to sustainability and the environment through product manufacturing, services or business practices. This business or organization will have set an example in their field/industry. Examples: Selling an eco-friendly product, use of composting or recycling in the business, institution of a carpooling program, etc.
Hometown Business of the Year:
This business embodies the Hometown Hoquiam spirit. Their service and/or product keep customers coming back for more. They exhibit excellent customer service, and sell a product that is highly valued by the community.
Next Generation Award:
Perpetuation is important in any organization or business. That is why we want to recognize the next generation of community professionals. This award will go to a community leader who was under the age of 40 in 2010. This individual should have made substantial progress in community/economic development through personal or professional commitment. This individual represents a promising future in our community.
Legacy Award:
We are a city based on tradition, hard work and longstanding organizations. We want to honor an individual, business or organization that has been in Hoquiam for over 20 years. The recipient of this award will have made Hoquiam a better place to live, work and do business.
