The Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee is announcing its second annual benefit concert, Lounge Acts, scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at the historic 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam, Wash. The show is open to all ages. All proceeds go toward the committee's goal to build a youth center in Cobain's honor in his hometown of Aberdeen, Wash. The fundraising event features four high-quality rock bands, including co-headliners, Harvey Danger and Schoolyard Heroes, and two local bands, Black Top Demon and Gebular, which earned opening spots at this year's Lounge Acts via victories over more than a dozen other local bands at The Road to Lounge Acts, a sold-out "battle of the bands" performance held in June in Aberdeen. As a special tribute, each band will perform at least one Nirvana song during their set.
