Tour begins and ends at Grays Harbor College where guests will board Grays Harbor Transit to tour Westport/South Beach.

Tour time frame: 8am - 5pm
Program starts at 8am in the Bishop Center at Grays Harbor College.
Buses load and depart by 8:30a.m.

Description

The highly anticipated return of Showcase Grays Harbor will tour the South Beach area! This exciting day-long event will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023. First launched in 2000, Showcase Grays Harbor was created to offer residents a behind-the-scenes look at various businesses and sites throughout the County that are otherwise inaccessible to community members.

Participants begin by boarding Grays Harbor Transit buses at the Bishop Center for the Performing Arts at Grays Harbor College before driving to the coast. Upon arrival, Showcase attendees will take part in the following agenda:

Tour the Westport Marina with insider knowledge from the Port of Grays Harbor
Take part in the South Beach Historical Society's Walk and Talks and learn the vibrant history and heritage of the area
Indulge in samplings of locally caught seafood provided by WEfish and Westport’s Fresh Catch
Have free time to explore the many local business on the Westport Marina
Hear exclusive commercial fishing culture and industry presentations as well as presentations from Westport Golf Links representatives and Experience Westport
Enjoy a delicious catered lunch by Aloha Alabama at the Westport VFW with fellow Showcase attendees
Step inside the operations of Ocean Companies for a first-hand look at the fishing industry in Westport - IMPORTANT: in order to enter the Ocean Companies' facilities, guests must have on closed-toe shoes, long sleeves and long pants. Please plan accordingly!
Tour the U.S. Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor and witness exclusive demonstrations by the stationed crew

Cancellations/Substitutions: If you register for the event but are unable to attend, Greater Grays Harbor is still responsible for the cost of your event reservation. If unable to attend, substitutions are welcome any time prior to the event date. Registrants are responsible for the full event fee for any cancellation made after 5pm, seven days prior to the event. Registration fees will not be refunded or waived after that date. No-shows will be charged the full registration fee.
