Description
This is an excellent opportunity for you to recruit volunteers! You will be able to let Haborites know what your organization is all about.
You will sit at a table(The first 25 organizations to RSVP will have a table and two chairs provided by the South Shore Mall. After that, you will have to provide your own table) At your table you should have a display that explains your organization. Pictures mounted on tag board that can stand up work very well, as do posters and banners. you should also have a brochures or pamphlets to hand out that give information about your organization and exactly what you need volunteers to do. Be sure to include time frames, age requirements, and if any training is needed to volunteer. People will sign up with you on October 27.
This invitation has been sent out to 110 organizations that depend on volunteers. If I have missed a group, please pass along this information. Everyone is welcome! Last year there were 29 tables, and almost 100 people signed up to volunteer! I will advertise the Fair in The Daily World, on radio stations, and also in the local high schools and Grays Harbor College. Community service is part of graduation and World Class Scholars requirements for our area's high schools, so we can help students find out where to volunteer. Pat Anderson of Grays Harbor Radio will broadcast live at the mall on October 27 interviewing you for about three minutes about your organization. Those interviews will also generate more volunteers for your group.
