Harbor Regional Health Welcomes Shannon Johnson as New Chief Nursing Officer
Harbor Regional Health is pleased to announce Shannon Johnson, MSN, RN, as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Shannon's journey to this role highlights her dedication and deep connection to the Grays Harbor community. From her early days as a nursing student at Grays Harbor College to her leadership role today, Shannon's career reflects hard work, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to patient care.
Shannon first joined Harbor Regional Health in 2010 as a nurse in the Medical/Surgical department, quickly standing out for her skill, empathy, and ability to support those around her. In 2013, she transitioned to Critical Care, where her leadership potential became increasingly clear. By 2018, Shannon was promoted to a management role overseeing Critical Care, the Emergency Department, and Ambulatory Infusion Services. In 2022, her responsibilities expanded further to include the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry departments, underscoring the confidence placed in her leadership.
Her roots in Grays Harbor run deep. Shannon started her nursing career by earning her Associate of Science in Nursing from Grays Harbor College in 2010. She continued her education at Western Governors University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018 and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership & Management in 2022. Having trained and worked extensively within the community, Shannon brings firsthand knowledge of the unique strengths and challenges of healthcare in our region.

As Shannon steps into her new role, Harbor Regional Health also wishes to thank retiring CNO Dori Unterseher for her years of dedicated service and outstanding leadership. Dori’s impact on patient care and nursing excellence at HRH will continue to resonate long into the future.
